Purchased from Caterham Cars UK on the 6th June 1978 and shipped to Calgary, Alberta. This Arch Motor’s LHD chassis is fitted with the VERY RARE 1558cc Lotus Big Valve Twin Cam and is the only Big Valve Twin Cam Caterham ever shipped to Canada by the factory.

Optioned from new, with alloy wheels, heater, roll bar, seat-belts, boot cover and tonneau; this truly remarkable car is one of the very last Big Valve Twin Cams sold by Caterham.

Included in the car’s portfolio is a comprehensive document file which includes all the original correspondence between the owner and Caterham, along with the car’s original bill of sale stating a cost of £3,921.00; also included are several press articles, a VERY RARE FACTORY WORKSHOP MANUAL, road tests, diagrams, technical documents and period photographs.

As one can see from the various pictures, the car is in amazing condition. To be super critical both front fenders are showing some sign of crazing as are the rears, hardly surprising considering it is 30 years old. Supplied with the car and included in the price are 4 new fenders and a new nose cone. These parts were ordered from Caterham and are as original spec and are of course are the correct colour. I haven’t fitted them because many would say ‘leave it original’ so I will leave it up to whoever becomes the next owner, whether of not they should be changed.
